Virtual IRAQ
Virtual Iraq by Sue Halpern is an article that i was very interested in reading and actually no offense to the other writers actually wanted to read. This is a topic i was very interested in because i know how PTSD can affect a person and i have many friends that are currently overseas defending our country. The place where i learned most about PTSD was actually in my own home and not from reading an article. This disorder does not have to be associated with just our military but can be connected with many of the men and women whom helped saved lives on what caused us to start the war. Many of the police and fireman who had to go into the city and help try and saves lives of the people in the world trade center can have systems of this. We may never know the feeling of seeing a loved one pass away right in front of you but my father did. The firehouse is a close knit family were you all take care of each other and actually become like a real family. My father watched many of his brothers die right in from of him because of what those animals did! He watched one of his best friends be hit by a jumper right in front of him. I thank God everyday for watching over my father and keeping him here with me. He was diagnosed with many illnesses from 9/11 but the one that took a large affect on him in the eyes of the family was PTSD. There are things that trigger emotions or reactions that wouldn't bother any of us. This is very serious and i just felt connected to the article and wanted to read it because i truly respect and am grateful to each person who fights for out freedom.
